Deck Sealing For Deck Preservation
We at Deck Rescue favor UV-resistant toners over stains as
have most professional contractors engaged in the art of deck preservation. Toners give you the advantage
of adding a rich, natural color of your deck without the hassle
of "stripping" the existing product off with each subsequent treatment. The thing to
keep in mind is that toners allow more of the wood grain to
show through than with stains, so your wood structures will have a pleasing
blend of natural colors after being sealed. These tones will
vary depending upon the angle from which you view the wood, as well from the reflection
of sunlight off it. Knotholes dry a "whitish" color due to
their porous nature; this is completely normal.
Water-based toners, such as the ones used by Deck Rescue, have experienced
amazing advances here in the new millenium. In most cases
(particularly due to EPA regulations), waterborne products meet
or exceed the capabilities of their oil-based counterparts. We
opt for water-based sealants for deck sealing due to their less toxic nature, lack
of overspray issues and optimum color retention and water repellency. In fact, beginning in 2009 the Federal EPA will begin initiating its ban of oil-based products in the United States. Toxic oil-based stains are going the way of the dodo as the "green" movement sweeps the nation. Protect your family and your environment by embracing water-based toners!

Deck sealing using UV-resistant toners will help your new or old wood deck, fence, log home, gazebo or play set look beautiful, longer.
